Recently, Juntao adopted Forbes (1.5 yrs old) and Leo (2 yrs old) from MSPCA! They are very cute boys and add lots of fun to our family! Forbes is full of energy and loves chasing his toys around the house, while Leo is gentle and enjoys quiet cuddles by the window. Watching them bond and play together has brought us so much joy and warmth every day.
Juntao considers gardening as one of his mindful activities outside of lab work. Caring for plants helps him slow down and reset after long days in the lab. He often reflects on how Gregor Mendelβs early pea plant experiments laid the groundwork for modern genetics, making the garden feel like a quiet tribute to scientific discovery.
Juntao loves tasty food, ranging from Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French and many others. Originally from Guiyang, China, he always enjoys spicy food scene back home. In addition to spicy food, Juntao also visited various delicious restaurants around the world and left his pleasant reviews on Google Maps with more than 6 million views. So ask him if you want to know whether there are any new scrumptious food opened in Boston area!
Juntao enjoys classical music and has been practicing the piano since seven. His favorite classical music composers include Prokofiev, Bach, Chopin, Shostakovich, Bartok, Ravel and many others. He believes Bach's music captures the essence of human spirit. He admires the 20th century contemporaily classical music composers such as Prokofiev, Ravel and Bartok because their innovations expand classical music, not only to describe the divine and grandeur of nature, but to depict a unity of order and chaos in humanity. He sees music as a bit like science, exploring truths about life and nature. His love for these composers inspires both his music and his scientific thinking.
